Elisha Snow Crowell's's Birth Certificate
Elisha Snow Crowell, the son of James Lane Crowell and Mabel Lillian Mead, born July 27, 1907 in Brooklyn. When he was 16 years old, he married 18-year-old Marie Nowasky, unbeknownst to his parents. When they found out, they had the marriage annulled. In the second entry in the column on the left, in response to "Color" it says "Female" (???). Also, not sure why the document is dated nearly a year after his birth. James and Mabel lived at 185A Quincy Street in the Bedford-Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn. James, a bank clerk, was 19, and Mabel was 18. Elisha is their first child.
