Bertha Saunders Obituary
In 2015, I contacted the Westerly Public Library in Westerly, Rhode Island and asked if they could research their newspaper archives for an obituary for Bertha. Nina Wright, the Reference Librarian, responded:
"I found a death notice for Bertha Saunders, although there was no actual obituary. I am sorry to say that there wasn't any helpful information in the death notice. Here is what it said:"
SAUNDERS--In Westerly, at 14 Spruce Street, March 12, 1941, Bertha Saunders, wife of Hobart C. Saunders, aged 51 years.
Funeral from Avery Funeral Home, Westerly, Friday, March 14, at 2 p.m. Relatives and friends invited to attend. Interment in River Bend Cemetery.
