Chronic Cardiovascular Renal Disease, also known under the umbrella term Cardio-Renal Syndrome (CRS) was defined as 'Disorders of the heart and kidneys whereby acute or chronic dysfunction in one organ may induce acute or chronic dysfunction of the other'.
The condition causes high blood pressure: The kidneys make renin, which is an enzyme that helps control blood pressure. Damaged kidneys may release too much renin, which can lead to high blood pressure and may increase the risk of heart attack, congestive heart failure and stroke.
