Cause of death: Cerebral Thrombosis
Cerebral venous sinus Thrombosis (CVST) occurs when a blood clot forms in the brain's venous sinuses. This prevents blood from draining out of the brain. As a result, blood cells may break and leak blood into the brain tissues, forming a hemorrhage.
A thrombotic stroke occurs when diseased or damaged cerebral arteries become blocked by the formation of a blood clot within the brain. Clinically referred to as cerebral thrombosis or cerebral infarction, this type of event is responsible for almost 50 percent of all strokes.
Hobart was admitted to Westerly Hospital on April 1, 1943 when the first attack occurred. He lasted one week.
