CAUSES OF DEATH
born February 1865 in Germany - died June 25, 1931, age 65 years.

Cause of death: Accidental gas poisoning
Amelia was living with her son William at 941 Newkirk Avenue when she accidentally died from inhaling illuminating gas from the outlet wall fixture in her bedroom on June 25, 1931. She was 65 years old. She is buried with her husband Lawrence at Evergreens Cemetery.
This must have been a very depressing time for William. His mother died the day before his 45th birthday. 32 years before this, his father died 2 days before William's 13th birthday.
It should be noted, however, that he married his second wife, Lillian Fall, four months after his mother's death, and that Lillian appears to have already been living with him at 941 Newkirk Avenue when they were married.
